In accordance with Indiana's approved Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver, each school and school district must demonstrate adequate annual progress within three areas. Annual State Assessment Proficiency (ISTEP + and ECA) Goals, Annual College and Career Readiness (CCR) Rate Goals, and Annual Graduation Rate Goals.
For the 2013-2014 school year, Shoals Elementary was rated an A school and has also been identified as a Focused-Targeted School. This is the first year our school has been designated a Focused-Targeted school based on data posted on the IDOE website. Shoals Elementary information about our school's performance can be found at http://compass.doe.in.gov/dashboard/overview.aspx. Shoals did not make proficiency goals in the special education subgroup or the white ethnicity subgroup. The school will continue to update its school improvement plan to meet the needs of all students and will include additional focused areas of service for those areas. Shoals Community School Corporation and the Indiana Department of Education are dedicated to supporting schools and providing with technical assistance.
